How you grow

Our scientists are working to understand how our bodies grow and develop.

You're growing right now. As a child, you grow up to seven centimetres each year.

As you grow, your bones get longer and stronger, your internal organs develop and your skin stretches and expands to hold everything together.

You started growing when you were just a few cells inside the womb. These first cells multiplied, and then started to become different from each other, eventually becoming all the amazing and complex parts of your body you have today.
