Magic molecules
Different molecules have different shapes and work in different ways.
Almost everything in your body is made of molecules, so there's a lot to look at in our lab.
Your body is made up of cells, and these cells are almost totally made up of even smaller things called molecules. When we look inside the cells in our bodies, we can understand how the molecules work together to keep us alive and well.
Molecules in our cells can fold, twist and bend to make their own unique shapes. These shapes are important as they allow a molecule to do its job.
When we know what job different molecules do, we know how they help us do all the things we need, such as growing, digesting food and making new cells.
